			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On August 26, Council approved a report outlining general directions and a new land use model for the updated Official Community Plan.  The report was informed by input received in community engagement activities over the past several months.  </p>

<p>Following Council direction, staff will prepare a draft plan in the fall for submission to Council in January 2011.  Further public engagement will take place early in 2011, providing Victoria citizens an opportunity to provide more input on Victoria&#8217;s updated Official Community Plan once it is in draft form.</p>

<p>The City of Victoria is holding four information sessions that will provide detailed instructions and a chance to ask questions about <a href="http://www.shapeyourfuturevictoria.ca/get-involved/events-and-acitvities/community-circles/">Community Circles</a> and their role in the Official Community Plan update. These sessions are only optional but available to anyone interested in hosting a Community Circle who feels they need more information before hosting one on their own.</p>
