The Plan
The City of Victoria is updating its Official Community Plan (OCP) to create a powerful vision and detailed plan to ensure that Victoria’s growth and change over the next 30 years is sustainable.
An OCP sets direction for a city’s growth, urban form, transportation, housing, services and infrastructure, with other city policies following and supporting the OCP. It addresses the broadest range of topics of any community plan, covering elements of economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
A new OCP will address today’s issues and set a clear path for the future, while preserving what is best and most unique about Victoria. It will also have a strong link to the Victoria Sustainability Framework.
At least 5,000 people will be engaged over the next 12 months as the OCP is updated and a new process for creating neighbourhood plans is established.
