Draft Downtown Core Area Plan

Draft Downtown Core Area Plan

The City of Victoria recently completed the Draft Downtown Core Area Plan to reflects the community’s vision for an attractive, vibrant, pedestrian-friendly and economically resilient downtown. By building upon the Downtown Core Area’s existing physical, cultural, social and natural assets the Draft Plan establishes a comprehensive development framework to guide decision-making related to the growth and vitality of the downtown area over the next 30 years.

The Draft Downtown Core Area Plan builds upon the policies of the previous Downtown Victoria Plan and the Harris Green Neighbourhood Plan – it lays out a vision, goals, policies and actions that will ensure Victoria’s Downtown Core Area remains a truly remarkable place to live, work and play well into the 21st century.

Over the next few months, the City of Victoria will be undertaking public engagement initiatives to provide members of the public the opportunity to review the draft plan, ask questions and provide feedback. A final draft of the plan will be presented to Council later in the year for their consideration and adoption.
